Upcoming Opportunities for Professional Advancement

The Academy has made great strides to provide you with convenient, cost-effective, and relevant educational opportunities through our WebClinics series. To get you up to speed on the latest in procedures and practice management, the Academy is offering two WebClinics in July. On July 19, join Carlos Puig, DO, for the ins and outs of PRP and hair restoration. Dr. Puig will dive into studies that have recently been conducted on using PRP as a primary treatment of hair loss and will also demonstrate how to make the best use of it. On the following Tuesday, July 26, join medical marketing expert David Phillips for his WebClinic on implementing a successful internet marketing plan for your practice. Earn CME while learning more about what you can be doing to bring your practice ultimate success.
We are nearing the end of our open call for abstracts for the 2017 Annual Scientific Meeting, next February in San Diego. The Academy has received a number of wonderful abstracts and are eager to begin planning the conference's program. However, we are still seeking submissions, so please explore our extensive list of optional topic areas and submit an abstract by Monday, July 11. This is your opportunity to set yourself apart as a thought leader among your peers. What is it that you will contribute to the field of cosmetic surgery in February?
Lastly, I am pleased to announce that our Fellowship Programs are seeing good progress, with the recent certification of two new Facial Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Programs and two new General Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Programs. Please join me in congratulating our most recent Facial Fellowship Directors: Husain Ali Khan, MD, DMD, currently practicing in Alpharetta, Georgia; and Tanuj Nakra, MD, FACS, in Austin, Texas. Similarly, congratulations to Jeffrey Marvel, MD, in Nashville, Tennessee, and Filiberto Rodriguez, MD, FACS, FAACS, in Edinburg, Texas, our newest General Fellowship Directors. For more information on AACS certified Fellowship Programs, head to the AACS website or reach out to Margaret Bengtson at
The Board of Directors has approved two new pathways that will lead to Fellow-level membership. I hope to give you all the details in my next message. Stay tuned!
