AACS is fortunate to have a strong and dynamic staff dedicated to the success of our members and leaders. While you might meet some of our team at the AACS Annual Scientific Meeting or over the telephone, chances are you have not met all of us. Therefore, each issue of The Consult will include brief staff profiles.
We hope that these profiles help you to learn a little bit more about the talented team that work tirelessly to successfully administer your governance, marketing, education and membership. In this issue you will meet me, your Executive Director, and Account Manager Margaret Bengtson.
Colleen M. Nolan, Executive Director
I am proud to serve as AACS's Executive Director and have been with the academy for nine months. I have worked in nonprofit management for the last 30 years, serving organizations like the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the American Hospital Association. I worked as a public policy analyst and lobbyist before moving into marketing and then management. I hold an MBA from Louisiana State University, MA from University of Illinois Springfield, and BS in History, BS in Political Science, and BS in Economics from MacMurray College.
As the Executive Director, I work with the AACS Board and Executive Committee and manage the AACS staff, budget, and implementation of our business strategy.

Thing you like best about AACS: The passion of our members
Margaret Bengtson, Account Manager
Margaret has been supporting AACS for six years, currently as Account Manager. Prior to joining MCI, she was the Executive Director of the McHenry County Bar Association, where she learned how to successfully manage multiple projects and to successfully coordinate volunteers. Margaret holds a BA in Business Administration from Barat College and a certification in Nonprofit Management from Harper College.

Thing you like best about AACS: Of course, the members! More specifically, helping the Fellows achieve their career goal of successfully completing an AACS certified Fellowship Program and helping them move into the next chapter of their careers.
