Fostering a Sense of Community with AACS Connect Events

by AACS Marketing Coordinator Meghan Hughes
Following the numerous personal and professional consequences our surgeons felt at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we created the AACS Connect series of events to create a sense of community and support among our members. AACS Connect events are free, virtual, open forums, designed to be a dedicated time for members and non-members to collaborate with their cosmetic surgery peers and share considerations around managing their practices during the COVID-19 pandemic. These Connect events are part of a comprehensive offering of COVID-19 resources compiled by AACS including news, agency guidelines, and practice management information.
Topics for AACS Connect events ranged from patient safety amid the pandemic to considerations for re-opening practices. Participants shared and discussed tips with each other on important procedures and resources, such as pursuing unemployment, applying for SBA loans, and conducting virtual consultations.
We want to thank all those who signed up and participated in these events and recognize our volunteer moderators, Dr. Wilbur Hah and Dr. Tony Mangubat, for their dedication to fostering meaningful discussions. We hope these events have provided support for our members during a difficult time.
