Sclerotherapy

The standard treatment for spider and varicose veins is Sclerotherapy, which involves injecting a chemical (usually salt-water, or saline) solution into the blood vessel, which then collapses and is absorbed by the body. Alternative treatments include laser or intense pulsed light therapy, electrodesiccation, surgical ligation and stripping (requiring hospital stay) and ambulatory phlebectomy.
