The Plastic Surgery Experts
Description of Program: The Mandell-Brown Plastic Surgery Center offers a one-year American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery approved fellowship in facial and body cosmetic surgery.
The program has a Medicare, state licensed, AAAHC-approved one operating room surgery center. The practice is 40% face and 60% body cosmetic surgery. Surgeons perform all aspects of facial plastic surgery and body cosmetic surgery, including liposuction, breast augmentation, breast mastopexy, breast reduction, abdominoplasty, brachioplasty, and thigh lifts. Facial cosmetic procedures include facelifts, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, chin and cheek augmentations, brow lifts, otoplasty, facial liposuction, hair transplants, laser skin resurfacing, soft tissue fillers, and facial peels.
The program offers a $25,000 salary, covers individual health, and pays a claims-made malpractice policy through Medical Protective for a one-year fellowship. In addition, the center assists in finding moonlighting opportunities as long as it does not interfere with the fellowship training.
The goal of the program is to have fellows assist the first six months and then, depending on skill level and progress, have their own patients the second six months, where fellows would operate as the primary surgeon. While most fellows focus on the surgical skills, the reality is it is the sum total of the practice—staff, facility, marketing, and surgery—that enable building a successful cosmetic practice. During the year, a fellow should have ample opportunity to learn these necessary and non-surgical aspects of a cosmetic practice.
Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, fellows will find the city charming with professional sports, college sports, interesting topography, and new energy downtown with multiple development projects.
