Description of Program: The fellowship includes a combination of facial cosmetic surgery and associated facial reconstruction procedures. It covers all types of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, Maxillofacial Reconstructive Surgery/ TMJ Surgery, Cosmetic Dermatology, Orthognathic Surgery, Hair Transplant Surgery, Implantology, Microneurosurgery.
The fellow is involved in all aspects of a cosmetic surgery practice. The clinical rotation will take place between multiple practices and the fellow will have exposure to surgical and non-surgical procedures. The fellow will also be working with practice administrators and will acquire knowledge regarding the practice management. Fellows will be directly involved in patient care including: consultation, surgery and post-operative follow up. Daily instruction and teaching will be provided to the fellows. A reading list will be designated by the faculty members.
The main location is in a Joint Commission accredited facility. Procedures will be performed in a hospital setting and outpatient surgical center also.
There is a $30,000 per year stipend.

Prerequisites for Fellows: Fellows must qualify per the AACS fellowship guidelines. They must be able to obtain an unrestricted Georgia medical license. Fellows that are oral and maxillofacial surgeons must obtain a Georgia dental license prior to the fellowship start date. Fellows must also obtain personal malpractice insurance. Fellows must be board eligible from one of the surgical specialties listing in the AACS fellowship guidelines.
