Description of program: The Facial cosmetic surgery fellowship at eyeplastx in San Antonio, TX emphasizes the full breadth of facial cosmetic surgery. The Fellow will obtain extensive exposure to blepharoplasty, brow-lifting, chemical peels, laser re-surfacing, and face lifting, as well as rhinoplasty and hair transplant surgery. The Fellow will be involved early in their training with hand-on surgical training, as well as pre and post-operative case management. Most procedures are performed in our JCAHO-accredited surgical center, while some cases will be performed in a hospital setting. It is expected that the Fellow will be involved in at least one research project per year with a presentation at the AACS annual meeting, and that he/she will sit for the ABFCS board examination.
The stipend per year is presently $54,000.

Prerequisites: Please see the AACS guidelines for Facial Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship. A Texas medical license is required, as is personal malpractice insurance. The Fellow applicant must be board-eligible (or certified) in one of the surgical specialties.
