The AACS Award of Excellence in Cosmetic Surgery Education is designed to recognize members who demonstrate a level of commitment to their continuing education in cosmetic surgery. This award is available to every AACS member who has earned, in the past three years, 150 AMA Category 1 CME credits in cosmetic surgery, 76 or more must be from AACS events. Certificates issued in January 2017 will be for credits earned December 2013 through December 2016.

To Apply for the Award
Complete the following online form and attach certificates of attendance provided by the accredited sponsor. Proof of attendance certificates should designate the number of AMA Category 1 credits that were earned, the title of the program, and location. The number of hours for each activity is designated by the sponsor, provided that the context of the specific activity is focused solely on cosmetic surgery.
No credit toward the award is applicable from the following type of activities:
- Medical editing
- Service on committees, councils or task forces
- Education that is incidental to regular professional activities (i.e., clinical experiences)
An application for the AACS Award of Excellence can be submitted every three years. The term begins on the date you indicate on your application and expires the first day of the following month three years later.
All approved applicants will receive recognition at the Academy’s Annual Scientific Meeting and a certificate suitable for framing.

Each year, the deadline to apply for the Award of Excellence is January 1. Certificates will be issued at the Annual Scientific Meeting during the following month.
