The Academy continues to excel because of the dedication of our members. I would like to thank Tony Geroulis, MD, and Bob Jackson, MD, for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend the AMA Mid-Year Meeting in Honolulu. As cosmetic surgery is a recognized specialty within the AMA, AACS has a voting seat in their House of Delegates. Dr. Jackson also serves on the Reference Committee. With diligence, these members represent cosmetic surgeons within AMA, ensuring our specialty and practitioners have a voice.
Looking to the future, the 2018 Annual Scientific Meeting is only eight weeks away. If you haven't already, I encourage you to register and secure your spot. To get the most out of your experience in Las Vegas, add a Pre-Conference Workshop to your registration and benefit from expert-led training. This year we have two different workshops to choose from. Get hands-on learning at our Body Cadaver Workshop led by Mark Mandell-Brown, MD and Kevin Duplechain, MD, or observe during the Non-Invasive Procedures/Neuromodulators Workshop led by Edward Zimmerman, MD. I'd also recommend booking your hotel stay ASAP at either the Mandalay Bay or Delano Hotel to receive our discounted group rate.
In reflection, I am grateful to be a part of AACS's year-over-year growth, highly-attended events, and ground-breaking educational opportunities that help us become better individuals and cosmetic surgery professionals. In the spirit of giving, I encourage you to take a moment to consider making a donation to our Cosmetic Surgery Foundation that provides the research and education needed to enhance our industry, cosmetic surgery practices, and our patient outcomes (tax-deductible).
I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving, and I look forward to reconnecting next month.
Michael Kluska, DO
