Dr. Michael Will, AACS President

Farewell Message from Dr. Will

The 2016 Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery is coming up quickly, in less than three weeks. If you haven't already, I implore you to register for the conference as soon as possible to be among the over 500 cosmetic surgery professionals and supporters in Hollywood, Florida, Jan. 14-16. On a similar note, the registration deadline for the pre-conference cadaver workshops is next week, January 4, so register today before you miss your chance for personal, hands-on instruction. Directed by Mark Mandell-Brown, MD, and Kevin Duplechain, MD, these workshops will provide in-depth instruction for the cosmetic surgeon at any experience level. I encourage you to peruse both workshop schedules - face or full body - to decide which will best serve you in your career and practice.

The time has come for me to write my final words to you as the Academy's President. I would like to sincerely thank the Board of Trustees, the Sentergroup staff, and members of the AACS for all their support this past year. It has been a true honor to work so closely with such talented and dedicated staff and board members. The Academy is certainly headed in the right direction and its brightest days are still ahead, and I'm confident that I leave the Academy in good hands under Dr. Robert Shumway's leadership in 2016. I encourage the membership to get involved in the Academy by serving on committees, rising to positions of leadership, and giving back to the organization that so appropriately represents our interests in the cosmetic surgery and medicine marketplace. I will miss serving the Academy in the formal sense, but am eager to continue supporting the organization behind the scenes.

I hope you've enjoyed a healthy and happy holiday season and wish you well in the new year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Will
