Advancing Your Practice with the Academy

The Academy is gearing up for a season of exciting educational events and opportunities. To start things off, registration for the 2016 Annual Scientific Meeting, which will be held in Hollywood, Florida, Jan. 14-16, 2016, opened July 15, and we're already seeing some of your names on the registered list. The first 50 people to both register for the meeting and book a room at the Diplomat Resort and Spa will receive a complimentary ocean-view room upgrade. I encourage you to find time soon to register, take advantage of this bonus deal, and prepare for what I'm certain will be another successful meeting. The exact schedule of speakers is still being arranged, but you can take a look at the working preliminary program that will fulfill the meeting's theme, "Where Science Meets Success" through three comprehensive, educational tracks: Surgical, Non-Invasive, and Practice Management. I'm eager to learn more about our exciting industry developments alongside all of you.

The first of our recently launched CME WebClinics, "Management of Medical Emergencies in the Cosmetic Surgery Office," will premier next week on July 29. Your participation in this one-hour webinar will provide you with an overview of what to do when experiencing common emergencies in your outpatient office and earn you CME credit. Host Elie M. Ferneini, MD, DMD, MHS, MBA, FACS, will guide you through what those common emergencies are, how to recognize and manage such situations, and what you can do to prevent them from happening. Be sure to explore the remaining WebClinics offered throughout the year and register for those that are most relevant to your practice. I hope you find this webinar to be an insightful and useful tool in advancing your skills and career.

Lastly, I would like to once again thank those who attended the strategic planning meeting in May for putting the time and effort into creating clear goals and strategies for the Academy's future. The past few years have posed a variety of challenges and frustrations for our organization, but the unwavering commitment to the Academy displayed by the dedicated board members, committee chairs, and our management team brings me great confidence in the future of our organization.
I wish everyone good health and happiness, and I look forward to reporting back to you with new AACS developments next month.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Will
