Title: “Use of Adipose Derived Stem Cells and Shockwave for Erectile Dysfunction”

Presenter: Carlos Mercado, MD

Target Audience: Intermediate

Description: Learn about erectile dysfunction (ED) and new treatment alternatives including use of stem cells and low intensity shockwave therapy. 

Objectives:

  • Understand the normal erection process
  • Understand that ED is a systemic disease
  • Understand the basics of stem cells
  • Understand the potential of stem cells in the treatment of ED, and in the setting of radical prostatectomy and radiation and diabetes
  • Understand the technique for intracavernosal injection with stem cells
  • Use of low intensity shock wave therapy for vascular ED
