Need Assessment:
This Live Surgery Workshop provides the cosmetic surgeon needed information on technological advances in liposuction, fat grafting and lipoabdominoplasty. Patient selection practices and safety concerns of new technology make it imperative that the cosmetic surgeon is well informed of the latest developments in liposuction, liposculpting, fat grafting, CO2 pneumodissection assisted fat transfer techniques, lipoabdominoplasty procedures, and new neoumbilicus techniques. The Live Surgery Workshop will succeed in advancing a cosmetic surgeon's practice of body contouring. Instructors will also discuss and demonstrate how to best reduce the effects of aging skin. Discussion will include non-invasive and invasive solutions, gentle laser, topical treatments, daily skin regimens, radio-frequency, used in conjunction with fat transfers in the face and hands emphasizing the value of these fillers and injectables in creating an ideal aesthetic look.
Objectives:
- Perform liposuction, liposculpting, fat transfer, and current lipoabdominoplasty techniques (mini-abdominoplasty, reverse abdominoplasty, Avelar abdominoplasty, Saldanha abdominoplasty, extended abdominoplasty) including the newest TULUA abdominoplasty procedure and new techniques for creation of scarless neoumbilicus with increased knowledge. The teaching will be provided with didactic lectures, videos and live surgery demonstrations.
- Define local tumescent anesthesia and its safe use as an alternative to general anesthesia.
- List instrumentation and equipment needed for effective and safe liposuction, fat grafting, CO2 pneumodissection assisted fat grafting, and lipoabdominoplasty.
- Prevent and manage complications related to liposuction, fat grafting and lipoabdominoplasty.
- Explain combined liposuction, fat grafting and abdominoplasty procedures. Improve facial aesthetic results using fillers and Botox toxin in conjunction with fat transfer.
