Hospital Privileges for the Cosmetic Surgeon
The Academy, upon the inspiration of its 2007 President, Edward Lack, MD, founded the Cosmetic Surgery Standards Panel to assist its members in responding to false advertising, consumer deception, and anti-competitive conduct, and to improve the legal and regulatory climate applicable to the practice of cosmetic surgery. The first of a series of comprehensive informational packets, entitled Privileging Block Informational Packet, was designed to assist physicians seeking cosmetic surgery privileges at hospitals and other health care facilities. The Packet arms physicians with information to protect their legal rights and oppose any improper attempts by their competitors to preclude them from obtaining cosmetic surgery privileges.
