Cameo Surgery Center
Islandia, New York
Description of Program: Dr. Blyer is pleased to introduce his fellowship in cosmetic surgery at CAMEO Surgery. During your fellowship experience, you will be introduced to a large volume of cosmetic surgery cases; the majority of which are body surgeries, with a good purview of facial surgery. All surgery takes place in our Joint Commission certified office-based surgical center. Injectables and fillers are performed by our PA and the fellow is encouraged to work with her as well. You will be working with Dr. Blyer who is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. Mr. Justo Concepcion is the fellowship’s surgical PA with over 20,000 cosmetic surgery cases worth of invaluable experience. Fellows are encouraged to learn from the consultation process, work hands-on with Dr. Blyer during surgery, evaluate patients during their follow up care, and learn how to manage complications. We have a relationship with another surgeon, whose focus is facial surgery, in the tristate area, if the fellow wishes to further their knowledge in different techniques and wants more exposure to facial surgery.
The fellow is encouraged to learn Dr. Blyer’s marketing techniques and social media experience (@DrBfixin on Snapchat and IG). We have a very unique type of practice with regard to the vibe in the office, and the relationship with our patients. It is our hope that our graduating fellow will not only be skilled as a craftsman, but learn about compassion, the impact these surgeries have on patients’ lives, and how to effectively communicate to their patients.
An approved scholarly cosmetic surgery paper is expected to be published in the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery by each fellow.
Cameo Surgery is accepting applications for an accredited American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery fellowship under Dr. Blyer. The one-year fellowship program will begin July 1st and vacation is allowed, per AACS guidelines. Those wishing to further their post-residency education in general cosmetic surgery and enhance their clinical skills are encouraged to apply.
There is a $40,000 stipend. The fellow is expected to attend the AACS Annual Scientific Meeting. Dr. Blyer will pay for the meeting registration and airfare. While the fellow is not responsible for taking any hospital call, he/she is responsible for carrying the emergency office cell phone afterhours.
Please direct all questions to email@example.com.
